Veteran Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik turned 33 on June 1 this year. On his special day, he received a lot of good wishes from the cricketing world. Among the various wishes that came his way, the message that caught the attention of many was a message from Shah Rukh Khan. The Bollywood actor is one of the owners of the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise in the IPL.

This season, the Knight Riders were led by Dinesh Karthik. No wonder why SRK wasted very little time to send out his good wishes to the KKR skipper. SRK took to the micro blogging site Twitter to convey his birthday regards. In his tweet, Shah Rukh Khan hailed DK as one of the very few good men left on the planet.

He was very sweet in praising DK and the wonderful human being that he has been. Now, Dinesh has responded back to the tweet that SRK wrote. He thanked his team owner for the good wishes.

Here is what Dinesh Karthik responded:

“Thanks a lot Shahrukh Bhai!!” Karthik wrote in his tweet.

The appointment of Dinesh Karthik as the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders was a very surprising one. Many doubted the move but the veteran cricketer proved his worth by leading from the front. Karthik amassed 498 runs in the 16 matches that he played in the season at a very impressive average of 49.80. Under his leadership, the Knight Riders made it to the Qualifier 2 of the season.

They lost to the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the penultimate game of the season. The year has been a sensational one for him thus far. He was the hero of the Indian win in the finals of the Nidahas Trophy earlier this year. And now, he has been roped in as the replacement for injured Wriddhiman Saha in the Indian team for the upcoming historic Test match against Afghanistan. The match will be played in Bengaluru commencing on June 14.
