Cricket over the years, with the formats getting shorter and the fans expecting more and more sixes from the batsmen and faster deliveries from the bowlers, has transformed into a game of power. Players like Andre Russel, Keiron Pollard and Chris Gayle, the three biggest stars of T20 cricket depend on their brute strength to tonk the ball out of the ground.

Players over the world have also changed their diets, in order to get more muscle power. And, the South African batsman, Cameron Delport had a piece of advice for the Bangladesh team regarding the same.

The South African, who has featured in T20 leagues across the globe, has advised Bangladesh players to incorporate more meat in order to build up more muscles to assist them in hitting the ball out of the ground. Delport, who is an expert in the shortest format of the sport has done pretty well in almost every T20 league that he has been a part of.

As reported by Cricfrenzy, Cameron said that players learn cricket through the course of playing it and the Bangladeshi cricketers, in order to develop more muscle strength, should consume more meat. He said, “Eat more meat [to hit over the boundary line].” Cameron also added that hard work comes with dedication and keeping our bodies fit and healthy to cope up with the stress of playing cricket.

Cameron Delport has words of praise for South African cricket pitches

Cameron in his talk also had words of praise for the South African pitches. He told that because of the fact that the South African pitches have ‘true bounce’ in them, it is the perfect learning ground for any player.

Commenting on his own style of play he added, “I think that’s what I have done throughout my whole career since I started playing cricket [playing cricket aggressively]. I always muscle the ball and played some risky shot. Maybe not the right way to play but I am not going to change.”

Players often do not comment so stubbornly on their style of play and given the fact that he did, reveals a lot about his temperament of playing on the field. And, with the T20 World Cup scheduled later this year, it will be interesting to see if the Bangladesh cricket team follows his advice or not.
