The behaviour of the crowd towards the players has time and again come under the scanner over the last few months. There have been several racism attacks on the cricketers and one of the female fans also informed that the Indian cricketers and fans were being called out at Trent Bridge. The second Test match between England and India is currently in progress at Lord’s and once again, the crowd hasn’t been kind to the visiting players.

This time, India opener KL Rahul had to face the wrath of the crowd as champagne corks were thrown at him during the first session of the third day. Several corks were seen at the boundary line where he was fielding and Rahul was clearly not happy with it. He also picked one of them up to throw out of the boundary line.

The commentators also pointed out the same and when the India skipper Virat Kohli got to know about the same, he wasn’t pleased either. Rather he was seen gesturing to his teammate to throw it back to the crowd as well. This is indeed a very poor behaviour from the crowd who have returned to the ground in full capacity this summer for the first time since lockdown last year due to COVID-19.

KL Rahul has been India’s star with the bat

If the reports are to be believed, India also reported the incident to the on-field umpires and no details have emerged as of yet. KL Rahul has been India’s star so far with the bat in the series and also scored a stunning century in the first innings of the ongoing Test at Lord’s. He displayed great patience on the opening day and later made the most of it scoring his sixth century in the format.

On the back of his brilliant 129, aided by Rohit Sharma‘s 83, India managed to post a formidable total of 364 runs in the first innings. England, in response, are once again being led by Joe Root and the match is hanging in the balance at the moment. Meanwhile, the Indian fans were not at all happy with what happened with KL Rahul at the Home of Cricket and they bashed the English crowd for the same.
