India’s ace spinner Ravi Ashwin hasn’t made it to the playing XI in straight four Test matches against England. His omission has been a topic of debate for the cricket experts and on-lookers. The latest to react to Ashwin’s omission is the former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan.

The fourth Test match between England and India currently stands in an intriguing position with India setting a target of 368 runs. On the final day, the hosts need 291 runs to win whereas the visitors have to scalp ten wickets to clinch the match. Amidst this scenario, the question that has struck everybody’s mind is whether India will miss the services of Ashwin.

Irfan Pathan shares a humorous Tweet on Ashwin’s non-selection

Pathan is amongst the many who have been baffled with the decision of not including Ashwin in the playing XI. Irfan Pathan took it to his official Twitter account to share a funny Tweet on the same. He tweeted in hindi: “ये सिरीज़ में जितनी हिचकियाँ अश्विन को आई होगी उतनी किसी को पूरी ज़िंदगी में शायद ही आई हो!” The Tweet fetched in a lot of replies from his fans and followers who seemed to be echoing similar sentiments.

With this Tweet, Pathan has thrown light on the rounds of discussions that have taken place ever since the start of the Test match series. Ashwin is the No.2 ranked Test bowler and his non-selection perplexed many. In all the four-Test matches, the Indian team has gone with the combination of four pacers and Ravindra Jadeja as the lone spinner. Thus, there was a huge uproar across social media as the decision dint go right with the cricket enthusiasts and experts.

The former India opener Wasim Jaffer who is super active across his social media accounts yet again put up his thoughts on this situation. He took it to Twitter and wrote: “One Ravi can’t be with the team. One Ravi is with the team but not in it. But there’s still one Ravi who is both with the team and in it so let’s back him to win it! #ENGvsIND,” Jaffer tweeted, referring to head coach Ravi Shastri who is in isolation as well as Ashwin and Jadeja.
