India and England are playing 2nd Test against each other at the Lord’s stadium. Before the same game, India’s wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was seen practicing with England’s slip cordon and the picture of the same started doing rounds on social media. At the iconic Lord’s, Pant could be seen polishing his wicketkeeping skills before the main game could get unfold.

It has to be noted that Rishabh Pant’s wicketkeeping skills were lauded a lot after his performance at the Trent Bridge Test. The way he took the gloves and did his work in the swing conditions was appreciated by few big names in the world. While it is difficult for a wicketkeeper to collect a ball that moves a lot, Pant flaunted class and patience behind the stumps.

Former cricketer Saba Karim went on to say that Pant’s wicketkeeping was even better than home keeper Jos Buttler. Buttler obviously is used to home conditions and would have had the upper hand on Pant in this case but Karim said otherwise.

Saba Karim lauded Pant’s wicketkeeping in the opening Test

“Rishabh Pant was brilliant with his wicketkeeping. I noticed that the way the ball was wobbling after crossing the wicket, it wasn’t easy. But his keeping was better than that of Jos Buttler. Buttler has played so many times in his home conditions, but Rishabh Pant was brilliant behind the stumps by taking so many catches.” Saba Karim said while speaking on the YouTube show ‘Khelneeti.’

Both India and England have gone into the 2nd Test with some of the injury concerns where pace all-rounder Shardul Thakur got ruled out of the game due to hamstring. On the other hand, the home side saw the loss of Stuart Broad who has been ruled out of the entire series owing to a calf tear. Ahead of the second game, even Anderson was expected to miss the game due to a quad injury but he turned up in the XI. In the 2nd game, England has won the toss and are bowling first.
