Almost synonymous with the England Test team, both James Anderson and Stuart Broad are hoping to be fit enough as Joe Root and his band of merry men does battle with Virat Kohli’s Men in Blue. The first Test is set to begin on the 1st of August at Edgbaston in Birmingham, a venue the Indians have had considerable success in the past.

When it comes to playing Test cricket both Broad and Anderson have been the go-to men for England, so to speak. Many also view the duo’s breathtaking partnership as something incumbent skipper Joe Root inherited from his predecessor Alastair Cook. At the moment, it would also seem as though they are rather unbeatable when these two are playing in the side.

Recently, Broad was seen playing cricket in a charity match before making his presence felt in the Wimbledon final between Novak Djokovic and South African Kevin Anderson. James Anderson will feature in the Roses match next week to prove his fitness for the India opening Test at Edgbaston.

Cracks beginning to appear

It would also seem as though both Anderson and Broad are seemingly not getting any younger. However, in spite of this they are as lethal as ever. It is also clear that their supremacy in partnership has been quite fantastic since they have taken 957 wickets together.

In spite of this, cracks have begun to appear, especially when they played Pakistan earlier this year and lost the first of the two-match series. Although they came back to win the second Test and square the series, Joe Root will be hoping that the duo can click so that the Indians would once again not prove to be trumps in the Test series as well.
