After completing the 500 Test wickets milestone, James Anderson registered his best figures in the format to seal a convincing win for England in the series decider. The West Indies were bowled out for 177, adding only 84 runs to their overnight total for the loss of seven wickets. Anderson bagged five wickets on the 3rd day to keep down the visitors’ 2nd innings lead to just 106. England chased down the target for the loss of Alastair Cook’s wicket.

4 – Number of ‘bowled’ for James Anderson in the 2nd innings; the joint most for him in a Test innings. He dismissed four Zimbabwe batsmen bowled in the first innings of his debut Test in 2003 at Lord’s. Graeme Swann is only other England player to dismiss as many as four players bowled in a Test innings since Anderson’s debut. Four Indians were bowled by Swann in the 1st innings of the Ahmedabad Test in 2012.
5 – Number of Man of the series awards in Test cricket for James Anderson; the joint-most for an England player in this format. Graham Gooch and Andrew Strauss also have five Man of the series awards in the Test format.
7/42 – Anderson’s figures of 7/42 in the 2nd innings are his best bowling figures in Test cricket. His previous best figures in a Test innings were 7/43 against New Zealand in 2008 at Trent Bridge.
12 – This Test match in only the 12th in Test history where scores in all the four innings in a game were between 100 and 200. The last such Test match was between South Africa and Pakistan at Cape Town in 2007.
39 – James Anderson’s 39 wickets in this season at home are the joint 2nd most for an England player. Jim Laker picked up 46 wickets in Tests in the 1956 home season.
104 – Number of ‘bowled’ wickets in Test cricket for James Anderson; the most by a pace bowler and 3rd most by any one. He went past the former England pacer Fred Trueman’s tally of 103 ‘bowled’ wickets.
375 – Shai Hope’s series aggregate of 375 is the highest for a visiting player in a 4 or fewer match Test series in England since Hashim Amla’s 482-run tally in the 3-match series in 2012.
601 – The match aggregate of 601 runs is the lowest in a Test match at Lord’s which had a result since 1958. The Test between England and New Zealand in 1958 had an aggregate of 390 runs.
