England sealed the 5-match ODI series against the Windies with one more game to be played in the series as the home side won the 4th ODI by a 6-run margin with the D/L/S method to take an unassailable 3-0 lead. A brilliant 176* from Evin Lewis took the Windies to a huge total of 356/5 after they were three down for 33 runs at one stage. Alzarri Joseph took five straight wickets to bring Windies back into the game but Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali took England ahead of the par score before the rain interruption.

Here we look at all the stats and records created during the game.

2 – The total of 356/6 posted by Windies is the highest to come in losing cause. The previous highest total in losing cause for Windies was 329/9 against Sri Lanka during a 331-run chase last year. Lewis scored his first ODI century which was a knock worth 148 in the game against Sri Lanka.

3 – Windies is now the 3rd team to lose an ODI despite players in the team recording an individual century and a five-wicket haul. Windies lost in 1991 as well against Pakistan at Sharjah while Australia lost to South Africa in the famous Johannesburg ODI in 2006.

6.85 – Alzarri Joseph’s economy rate of 6.85 is the 10th worst and the worst by a Windies player during a 5-wicket haul. Kemar Roach had an economy rate 6.22 during his 5/56 against Bangladesh in 2012.

20y 311d – Alzarri Joseph became the youngest Windies player to pick up a 5-wicket haul in ODI cricket. Previous youngest Windies bowler to take a 5-fer was Kemar Roach at the age of 21 years and 26 days against Bangladesh in 2009.

94 – Evin Lewis’ 94-ball century is the fastest for a Windies player in ODI cricket against England. The previous fastest century by a West Indian against England was in 97 balls by Brian Lara in 1998.

176* – Evin Lewis’ 176-run knock is the 3rd highest individual score in a losing cause in ODIs. Charles Coventry’s 194* against Bangladesh in 2009 and Mathew Hayden’s 181* against New Zealand in 2007 are the bigger ODI innings to be on the losing side.

313/6 – Windies’ previous highest total against England in ODIs is 313 which came in 1994 at Kingstown. This is also the 2nd highest total in England-Windies ODIs behind England’s 369/9 at Bristol.

323 – Windies’s 323 runs from 3/33 are the 3rd most runs added by any team after losing their 3rd wicket in an ODI. Australia scored 358 runs against Sri Lanka in 2006 at Sydney while India added 356 runs against England in January at Cuttack. Windies’ total of 356/5 is also the 3rd highest ODI total for any team after losing their 3rd wicket inside 50 runs.

356/5 – Windies’ total of 356 is their first ever 300+ total in ODIs in England. Their previous highest in ODIs in England was 293/6 against Pakistan at The Oval in 1979.
