Speak of leaving no stone unturned for something and Heather Knight might just be the perfect example. The England skipper and her team are ready to face India in Bristol today for a one-off Test. Ahead of the exciting clash, England bowler Kate Cross gave a glimpse of how Knight has been practising and preparing.

Apart from honing her skills with the bat and ball, the 30-year-old has been practising her toss skills, as seen in a recent video shared on England Cricket’s official Twitter handle with a caption “Preparation is key!” with a tear-of-joys emoticon following.

Notably, this will be India women’s first Test in almost last seven years, when they played the same team at Wormsley in another one-off affair and ended up winning the contest by 6 wickets. The Wormsley Test versus England was India’s first in eight years and India defeated South Africa later the same year. However, another Test encounter remained elusive. Getting chances as rarely, it is needless to say that Mithali Raj and Co. would be itching to wear the whites for the nation and repeat their heroics.

India is going to be hard to beat: Heather Knight

Speaking about her rivals, Knight said that the Indian women are a “very strong side” and they will be “hard to beat”. “We always want to put on a show because we haven’t had fans in there for so long. India is a very strong side, and naturally, there will be a contest there. They’re going to be hard to beat so I guess that will hopefully be fun to watch. They’re going to be a really big test for us.”

She also spoke highly of India pace veteran Jhulan Goswami. “I imagine it will be Jhulan Goswami’s final tour of England. She’s a world-class bowler and I am looking forward to facing her and hope I come out on top,” said Knight.

After the one-off Test, both teams will lock horns in three ODIs beginning between June 27 to July 3, to be played in Bristol, Taunton and Worcester. The ODIs will be followed by three T20Is, between July 9 to 15, in Northampton, Hove, and Chelmsford.
