Pakistan is doing well on the field in the ongoing T20 World Cup in the UAE. But back home a national icon Shoaib Akhtar is ready to fight a legal battle with PTV. For the unversed, Akhtar had walked away during live program on PTV when anchor Nauman Niaz called him ‘rude’ and also said he can leave the show if he wants to. A lot has been said since then but everyone felt things got sorted after Nauman apologised for his behaviour.

However, a few days ago, PTV sent Shoaib Akhtar a recovery notice of a whopping 103.3 million PKR for not fulfilling a contract period and resigning from the post. The 46-year-old, meanwhile, is pretty much confident of coming out victorious in this battle it seems.

Shoaib Akhtar has revealed that he has the backing of showbiz stars and also the whole government led by Prime Minister Imran Khan. “From the government to the people of showbiz, everybody is standing with me because they are angry at how a national icon was insulted during a live show,” he said while speaking during a show on Geo News.

I am a fighter and will not give up, Akhtar had said

Earlier, Shoaib Akhtar didn’t take much time in informing his fans and followers about the latest step taken by PTV in the controversy. Soon after the channel sent him a recovery notice of the whopping amount, he took to Twitter and announced he will be fighting this legal battle with his lawyer and won’t be giving up. He also expressed his disappointment over PTV’s conduct on the matter.

“Utterly disappointed, after miserably failing to safeguard my respect and repute while I was working for PTV, they have now sent me a recovery notice. I am a fighter & will not give up & fight this legal battle. My lawyer @SalmanKNiazi1 will take this forward according to law,” Akhtar had tweeted. This can turn out to be a long and fierce battle but Akhtar seems determined to take the case forward according to the law.
