The five-match Test series between India and England is set-up beautifully now with the visitors storming back with a thumping victory. It was a clinical performance from them at Trent Bridge and one would expect them to play in the same vein at Southampton as well. The return of Jasprit Bumrah also worked wonders for them as he ended up picking five wickets in the second innings and celebrated it in a unique way.

Bumrah’s inclusion was definitely going to spice up the Indian bowling attack as England had not played him in whites. His weird action makes it tough to pick him as the batsmen and the same happened with the hosts. He changed the game with the second new ball the other day by picking the centurion Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow off successive deliveries.

But his habit to bowl a no-ball, off which Adil Rashid was dismissed, denied him his fifth wicket of the innings and the crowd booed him for the same.

Bumrah’s perfect response

Jasprit Bumrah is not amongst the one to forget such things. He bowled more venomously for the next few overs and then scalped Stuart Broad who eventually became his fifth wicket. The left-hander was squared up and the edge was safely pouched by KL Rahul who was in amazing form standing in the slips in this game. Soon after picking the wicket, Bumrah looked at the crowd and told them to stay quite by gesturing that he is here to stay.

It was some statement by the youngster who registered his second consecutive fifer in whites and is bowling superbly very early in his Test career. Team India will have to take care of him and his fitness and make sure that he doesn’t burn out by playing excessive cricket in the near future.
