North Group’s Durham will lock horns with Yorkshire in the 102nd match of the English T20 Blast 2023 at the Seat Unique Riverside in Chester-le-Street on June 23. Having won just four out of their 11 matches so far, Durham are in the eighth position in the points table. Yorkshire, on the other hand, have won six of their nine matches and are fifth in the rankings of the North Group. 

Durham had squared off against Warwickshire in their last match, where Warwickshire won the toss and elected to field. Thanks to a major contribution of a half-century each by Ollie Robinson and Ashton Turner, Durham scored 146/5. The rest of the batting combination didn’t seem to work, and thus the team couldn’t score higher. Coming to chase, Warwickshire started brilliantly, with their batters looking in great touch. The Durham bowling attack worked very well and could pick wickets after breaking the opening partnership. Even though the bowlers of Durham tried, they couldn’t defend their score of 146 and thus lost the match by two wickets with three balls remaining.

Yorkshire had played against Warwickshire too in their last encounter, where Warwickshire won the toss and went in to bat. They started explosively but lost a wicket quickly as well. The bowlers of Yorkshire worked well and were able to pick wickets at regular intervals. A brilliant hit of 66 runs by Rob Yates and 45 runs by Chris Benjamin, along with other helpful contributions, helped Bears set a target of 181 runs. Yorkshire were a little slow in their chase and lost three wickets within ten overs. The falls of wickets was consistent after that. Adam Lyth (34), Jordan Thompson (34), Matthew Revis (32), and others tried but fell short of runs in chasing the total score. They finished at 176 for the loss of eight wickets and thus lost the match by four runs.
