England and India are battling it out at the iconic Lord’s in the ongoing second One-Day International. The visitors are leading the three-match series and Eoin Morgan‘s men are looking to stay alive with a victory in this game. However, during the engrossing battle on the 22 yards, there was a lovely moment in the stands when a guy proposed the girl sitting with him by offering a ring to her.

The incident took place in the 24th over when the partnership between Eoin Morgan and Joe Root was prospering. Once the camera was on him, the boy expressed his feelings to the girl sitting beside him who probably came with him to enjoy the game. He knelt down and offered her a ring to accept his proposal as all the eyes were now on the girl. As she said ‘yes’ the crowd exulted in joy and for a moment cricket at Lord’s was not at the centre of the action.

Interestingly, this was also the first televised proposal at the Home of Cricket despite the fact that these kinds of incidents have happened before in the Stadium. Also, this moment will be memorable for the new couple and they will remember it forever.

Kuldeep all over England again

Meanwhile, amidst all the brouhaha, there was a game going on at Lord’s as Kuldeep Yadav was wrecking England once again. He dismissed both the openers again in the first couple of overs of his spell before Morgan and Root joined hands to bail the team out of the trouble.

Just when they were threatening to take the game away from the visitors, the chinaman came to the fore again and scalped Morgan who was looking dangerous. It was a lucky wicket for the youngster as the batsman failed to put the full-toss out of the ground and was sent back for 53.
