Kuldeep Yadav’s guile and trajectory have troubled England on this tour. Before the second One-Day International, he had picked 11 wickets in three games against them and has also started well by removing the openers in the ongoing game at the iconic Lord’s. But James Anderson feels that the chinaman hasn’t been at his best so far.

The hosts, after winning the toss, opted to bat first and the start as similar to what they got at the Trent Bridge. Jonny Bairstow took the attack to the pacers anticipating Kuldeep’s introduction after the powerplay. Jason Roy also played some delightful strokes as England reached 69 runs after 10 overs.

However, Kuldeep did the same again this time and castled Bairstow off the very second delivery of his spell as the fans in the stands feared the repeat of Nottingham debacle. His opening partner, Roy also followed him in his next over to leave his team reeling at 86/2.

Yadav releases the pressure

James Anderson believes that Kuldeep Yadav has not bowled well in the second ODI thus far. He has dished out full tosses to the opposition and also bowled a half-tracker to Roy early in his spell. The 23-year-old has already conceded three boundaries in his 4 overs in the game.

“I don’t think Kuldeep has bowled particularly well, considering the previous standards we have seen from him,” Anderson while analysing the game live on BBC.

He was removed from the attack soon by his skipper Virat Kohli and had to bring back his pacers to keep a lid on the run-scoring. However, Kuldeep remains the vital cog of the bowling line-up and he will be expected to pick more wickets and bowl better later in the innings. Currently, the duo of Eoin Morgan and Joe Root are rebuilding the innings and England have crossed the 150-run mark with 25 overs to go.
