Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), has left no stone unturned while covering the matches this season. They have included almost every former cricketer around the world in their analysis shows and in the commentary team who are giving the best insights of the action in the middle. The T20 League has given a chance for all the legends to come together for the cricketing festival in India. However, the former South African captain Graeme Smith is now the latest member to be added to the team.
Currently, the Australian legends like Mark Waugh, Brad Hogg, Michael Slater among many others are part of the IPL as an analyst or commentators. Moreover, the voice of cricket David Lloyd has also joined them last week to lighten up the experience of watching the game for the spectators. Star India has certainly lived up to their promise of covering each and every aspect which they had made after bagging the rights of the cash-rich tournament.
Smith confirms on Twitter
Graeme Smith himself confirmed the news about the same on his Twitter handle and will be on air with the game between Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). “Great to be back in India and joining up with the @StarSportsIndia team. @IPL 1st game is my old team @rajasthanroyals,” he tweeted while informing his followers about the same.
Smith was more excited about starting his stint with the match of the team which he had played before. He was part of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the inaugural edition of the IPL when the team historically win the tournament under the inspired leadership of Shane Warne. He last played in the league in 2011 for Pune franchise and is now back in a different role to keep the fans engaged.
Here’s his tweet:
