Out of favour Indian opener, Gautam Gambhir recently tweeted about playing cricket with his visually challenged colleagues. He also posted a clip on his Facebook page, where he can be seen very much in good touch, connecting the ball on a different pitch altogether. In the video, Gambhir can be seen getting blindfolded with the help of one of his colleague, as he sets out to face some deliveries.

The veteran was recently named the captain of the Delhi team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Apart from Shikhar Dhawan, Ishant Sharma too will be representing Delhi in the T20 tournament.

The 35-year old last played for India during the Test series against England back last year. He scored 29 in the first innings and failed to open his account in the second innings. The southpaw was in good touch during the domestic season last year. He scored a gritty 147 against Odisha in the Ranji trophy before scoring a couple of 90’s turning out for India Blue in the Duleep trophy.

The southpaw made his debut versus Australia in Mumbai on November 3, 2004. He has played 58 Tests and has scored 4,154 runs with nine hundreds and 22 fifties. His best score of 206 came against Australia at his home ground in Delhi.

The left- handed batsman had also represented India in 147 ODI games, scoring 5238 runs at an average of 39.68, along with a strike rate of 85.25. He has registered 34 fifties and 11 centuries. His last ODI match was against England at Dharamshala in the year 2013. He had scored 24 in that game. The stylish batsman has not represented India in the limited overs format since then.

India is all set to host T20 Cricket World Cup for the Blind starting from 31st of January, 2017. The opening match the world cup will be played between hosts India and the West Indies in Delhi. The former Indian batsman and current India-A coach Rahul Dravid has been serving as the brand ambassador of blind cricket world cup.
