Glenn Maxwell has been going one of the toughest phases of his cricketing career. There have been calls him being axed from the Australian team as well but the new coach Justin Langer believes he is a game changer and can win matches single-handedly on his day. Meanwhile, he endured a dismal season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year for the Delhi Daredevils (DD) franchise and was finally dropped from the team after repetitive failures.

Maxwell could only score 169 runs in 12 matches for his team at an absolutely poor average of 14.08. Though his strike-rate of 140.83 was impressive, more often than not he threw his wicket away. He had to cop a lot of criticism for his performance. Moreover, his services were bagged by Delhi for a whopping amount of Rs 9 Crores in mega-auction earlier this year.

Maxwell uses a new Instagram feature

Instagram introduced a new ‘Ask me a question’ feature recently in which a user can urge his followers to ask him any question in his story. While many celebrities have got hang of it and have started using the same. Maxwell also decided to give it a go. However, soon he updated his story and asked his fans to ask him anything, one of his followers trumped him by posting a tricky question.

The fan had asked him, “when u play well in the IPL?” Glenn Maxwell, however, had an extremely funny response to it as he posted a picture of his saving his face and recalled his heroics in the 2014 edition of the tournament.

The dangerous batsman was playing for Kings XI Punjab then and had set the stage on fire with his batting exploits. He had amassed a massive 552 runs in 16 outings at an amazing strike-rate of 187.75 with 4 half-centuries. He was in dream form four years ago. But unfortunately, has failed to replicate the same since then which has left his national team and IPL franchise in tatters.

Here’s his story:
