Gram Panchayat candidate gets Virat Kohli's duplicate as chief guest

Indian skipper Virat Kohli must be very depressed with a certain bunch of incidents which took place in recent times, from his side Royal Challengers Bangalore‘s poor run and his injury being two of the few reasons. But there’s one story about himself which might bring a smile on the face of the 29-year-old.

It’s high time in the country with National elections just a year away from taking place. But ahead of them, there are a lot of Gram Panchayat elections taking place across various parts of the country. Each candidate has been coming up with unique strategies to win a few precious votes whilst some of them have gone a little beyond the line.

An outrageous, yet hilarious incident from the Ramaling Panchayat Elections (Maharashtra) has gone viral across social media. One of the Gram Panchayat candidates, who had a cricket bat as his symbol for the elections, had promised to invite Indian cricketer Virat Kohli as the Chief Guest to his village.

As it turned out, a lot of promotion was done across the village that Virat Kohli will be coming to their place in a few days time. People got very excited about it and it really would’ve been a dream come true for many cricket lovers from that area. But the candidate, Mr Vittal Ganapath had a small surprise.

Kohli’s doppelganger appears; Twitter mocks him brutally

Vittal Ganapath had arranged a Virat Kohli’s doppelganger to appear as the chief guest and that didn’t go well with the fans. It paved way for a plethora of Expectation vs Reality trolls. A fact that so much marketing and publicity was done resulted in Mr Vittal Ganapath getting trolled heavily.

They did so because the party’s symbol is a bat and Virat is an excellent batsman. Most of the people gathered there only to see the batsman. However, we all know that it’s not so easy to invite leading cricketers as chief guest. Here are some tweets which will make you go ROFL!
