Such is the intensity of close battles in the Indian Premier League (IPL) that even the coolest minds lose their cool. On Wednesday (April 27), Sunrisers Hyderabad spin-bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan was seen furiously getting up from his seat in the dug-out and shouting animatedly. The same Muralitharan is known for his calm demeanor through which he scalped 800 Test wickets and over 500 scalps in ODIs, most by any bowler to date.

This incident took place in the very last over of the game when Rashid Khan smashed Marco Jansen for a couple of towering sixes. Seemingly frustrated with Jansen bowling full to the Gujarat Titans all-rounder, the Sri Lankan great couldn’t hold back his emotions and shouted in anger. GT eventually clinched the contest by five wickets as SRH’s five-match winning streak came to an end.

When Rahul Dravid lost his cool

Meanwhile, Muralitharan losing his temper reminded fans of another such instance when another cricket legend shockingly lost his cool. He is none other than Rahul Dravid, who’s also known for his cucumber-cool nature. It was a game between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals in the 2014 edition of the tournament – wherein the former team recorded an emphatic five-wicket triumph.

The then RR mentor, Dravid was furious with the result as he uncharacteristically threw his cap in anger. Fans were shocked as the legendary batter hardly ever showed such emotions even during his playing career. Eight years later, as Muralitharan vent out his anger in the dug-out, fans went down the memory lane and recalled Dravid’s questionable actions.

As a result, the old video resurfaced on social media with fans wondering how much can an IPL game affect the coaches, who are otherwise known for their calm nature. Meanwhile, GT has tightened its grip atop the team standings now, having won seven of their first eight games. SRH, despite the loss, don’t have much to worry about either as they are still holding third place in the points table.

Meanwhile, let’s look at how Twitter recalled Rahul Dravid’s antics:
