Harbhajan Singh interacts with his fans over a Facebook live session

Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has named Pakistan great Saqlain Mushtaq as one of his all-time favourite spinners. Harbhajan spoke about his bowling idols recently during a live video session with his fans on his Facebook page.

Mushtaq isn’t the only one who inspired him during his career. The Turbanator, who has taken 417 wickets in 103 Test matches, also went to express his admiration for his former teammate and current India head coach Anil Kumble and Australian spin king Shane Warne.

“I have to say I really admired Anil Kumble. There was also Shane Warne. And of, course Saqlain Mushtaq!”

Harbhajan, who spoke at length with the fans on various topics, also praised Indian Test captain Virat Kohli and his style of leadership. He went on to add that he considers Kohli as his brother and at present, he is his favorite player.

“Virat is a fantastic player for India. He is like my brother. I think he will take India to the next level. He is doing so well in Test cricket as captain, but I think he is also going to lead India in ODIs in future.

“In fact, I have always said that Sachin Tendulkar is my all-time favourite cricketer. And now my current favourite is Kohli. He is a really fantastic player.”

Harbhajan played under both MS Dhoni and Sourav Ganguly, two of India’s best ever captains. One of the fans quizzed him about the experience playing under these two skippers. It is always tricky to rate both the individuals but Harbhajan Singh gave a clear and straightforward answer. Bhajji stated that Sourav Ganguly who was the best skipper he has played under.

“Dada was a fantastic captain. He took over after the match-fixing scandal. It was a really tough time to lead India. But he did such a fantastic job. He took India to a different level,” Harbhajan said.

One fan from Dubai asked him if he was coming to Dubai in near future. “Of course, I hope to come to Dubai soon,” Harbhajan said. “Dubai is my favourite place. I love it,” added Harbhajan, who named Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar as his favourite actors.
