The Windies are currently taking part in a two-match overseas Test series against Virat Kohli’s India. The first Test is presently taking place at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot and Kraigg Brathwaite’s men have strained to find their feet in the format. After losing the toss, almost everything went wrong for the visiting team, much to their disappointment.

Prior to the match, the likes of Kemar Roach and Jason Holder were ruled out owing to various reasons. Quite expectantly, the omissions depleted the bowling lineup to a significant extent. The likes of Prithvi Shaw, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja scored centuries to pick the bones out of the Windies bowlers. Rishabh Pant also scored 92 to dominate the rival’s bowling attack.

Windies’ keep on struggling

India went on to rack a mammoth 649 runs and declared after Jadeja accomplished his maiden Test century. In their first innings, the Windies’ batters found themselves in all sorts of trouble and were eventually bowled out for 181 runs in 48 overs. Roston Chase and lower-order batsman Keemo Paul scored 53 and 47 runs respectively to provide some resistance.

However, the knocks weren’t enough to stop the Indians from racking up a humungous first-innings lead. The Windies were thereafter made to follow on and Kuldeep Yadav, who didn’t have much to do in the first innings, rattled the Windies top order. In the meantime, off-break bowler Harbhajan Singh isn’t happy with the abject state of Windies cricket.

Harsha Bhogle, a renowned cricket journo, threw light on their cricket on Twitter. In a reply to his message, Bhajji expressed his opinions. He replied and wrote, “Sad to see this situation of West Indies cricket.. there was a time when people fear playing against them.. hope they do get some good players and compete at international level..”
