Hardik Pandya’s ex-girlfriend Elli AvRam reacts to the Koffee With Karan controversy, slams the cricketer

While the Indian Cricket Team has just won two back to back series Down Under, social media is still abuzz with the controversy that was sparked by the Koffee with Karan episode featuring India batsmen KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya. A few disrespectful and misogynistic comments made by the two, Hardik in particular, cost the two participation in the Australia ODIs and also the tour of New Zealand. Almost every day a new character has added their comments to the story and this time around, it is Hardik’s ex-girlfriend Elli Avram who has given her views on the episode.

The rumour mill also has it that the two players may be dropped for the entire IPL 2019 and also the subsequent World Cup. Reactions to the controversy and the level of punishment have been mixed. Hardik is expected to be integral to the Indian team’s chances in England for the World Cup, which is why most feel that the matter needs to be resolved as soon as possible.

Not the Hardik I knew!

The model has refused to support Hardik in the matter and said that this is not the kind of guy the cricketer was when she dated him. She also clearly stated that his behaviour on the show called for the suspension that was imposed.

“I got a little bit surprised because that’s not really the Hardik Pandya I personally once used to know! I think it’s great that people are reacting and putting their foot down on this kind of behaviour because it’s about time we all realize that this kind of mentality is not cool. Neither is it something to brag about,” IndiaToday quoted Elli as saying.

“On terms of what is happening from what I read, they are getting suspended right? I mean I just feel when you get an opportunity to represent your country, it’s a really big privilege to get that and it shouldn’t be taken lightly. I believe because by the end of the day the youth that is our next generation are actually they are watching and learning from their idols. So… that’s all I have to say on this,” she added.

Avram is a model who rose to fame with the reality show Big Boss. She was often spotted with Hardik by the media until it was confessed by the couple that they broke up. On Koffee with Karan, Pandya announced himself as single and ready to mingle.
