Harshal Patel isn’t the most renowned name in the history of Indian cricket, but his prowess a cricketer can’t be undermined by any means. He played for the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League and churned out some crucial performances in the event. In one of the matches, he smashed Dwayne Bravo for four sixes in an over, which helped his team to a competitive score.

Previously, he used to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and was a useful component for the franchise. He was also a part of the Indian U19 side back in 2010. He has been plying his trade in the domestic circuit for a long time but hasn’t quite been able to stake his claim in the Indian team. However, he hasn’t shelved his dreams of donning the national colours just yet.

“Looking to perform well”- Harshal Patel

“I am obviously eyeing to play for India A, as it is just a step away from international cricket. I am confident that the time will come and I am not away from playing at the highest level. I am putting the hard work in the right direction and the results would follow. I am pretty positive and confident about it,” Harshal Patel was quoted as saying in an exclusive interview by CricXtasy.

The IPL is done and dusted and Harshal is eying the upcoming domestic season. “Once IPL finishes, everything is done and you enter a completely new set-up of first-class cricket, so am looking to perform well and get noticed,” the vibrant cricketer added.

During his chat, he also heaped praises on Gautam Gambhir, who captained the Daredevils in the initial part of the tournament. The 27-year old all-rounder hailed Gambhir’s prowess as a leader and credited him for convincing the selectors into promoting him up the order. Harshal also put forth his privilege of rubbing shoulders with the likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle during his RCB journey.
