‘He deserves respect’ – DC owner Parth Jindal tweets in favour of Boria Majumdar, later deletes tweet

Sports journalist Boria Majumdar posted a video on 5th March 2022 alleging that Wriddhiman Saha had tampered screenshots of his messages to the cricketer on WhatsApp.

Majumdar further alleged that Saha has damaged his reputation and credibility and even said that he has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for a hearing. Majumdar also added that he has issued a defamation notice to Saha as well.

“There are always two sides to a story. Wriddhiman Saha has doctored, tampered screenshots of my WhatsApp chats which have damaged my reputation and credibility. I have requested the BCCI for a fair hearing. My lawyers are serving Wriddhiman Saha a defamation notice. Let truth prevail,” tweeted Boria Majumdar.

And, the owner of the Delhi Capitals (DC) franchise, Parth Jindal tweeted that he has known Boria Majumdar for a long time, and added that Boria is a person who always wishes the best for Indian sport. Adding that Majumdar is one of the most knowledgeable sports journalists, Jindal said that he deserves respect. However, Jindal later deleted his tweet.

“Known Boria for a very long time and know that he has nothing but the best for Indian sport running through his blood – one of the finest and most knowledgeable journalists in India – he deserves respect and a hearing,” tweeted Parth Jindal.

Talking about Wriddhiman Saha, the wicketkeeper was dropped from the Indian squad ahead of the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Saha has represented the Indian side in 40 Test matches and has scored 1353 runs at an average of close to 30. The right-handed willow wielder has also amassed 3 centuries and 6 half-centuries for the Indian side in the white flannels.
