The demand of including Indian wrist-spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are taking rounds ever since the two started demolishing the South African batters during the limited over series. The two have been part of the Indian side ever since the finals of ChampionsTrophy last year where India lost the finals in the hands of arch-rivals Pakistan.

Kuldeep Yadav’s former teammate in the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, Australia chinaman bowler Brad Hogg feels that the 23-year-old is ready to don the white jersey for India. Hogg feels that with a number of Tests away from home, India should give an opportunity to Yadav where he can use his variations.

Not a T20 and ODI specialist, he is the real deal: Hogg on Kuldeep

The 47-year chinaman bowler was speaking to The Indian Express where he was asked if the bowler was ready for the longer formats of the game. Yadav having played 20-ODIs and 8-T20Is has just represented India in 2 Tests. Hogg suggested that dropping Ashwin or Jadeja will be a tough choice but If India needs to go with just 1 spinner on away tours, It should be Kuldeep Yadav.

“Oh, he is ready. A quality wrist spinner always does well against England. I know it’s hard on Ashwin and Jadeja, and if India can play Ashwin as the allrounder and squeeze in Kuldeep, it would be great. And if they need just one spinner, I think he is ready for it. He is not a T20 and ODI specialist, he is the real deal. Throw him in the Tests, I say!” Brad Hogg was quoted saying to The Indian Express.

Kuldeep very serious about his career

Hogg revealed their first meeting 4 years ago and said that Kuldeep was very serious about his career. “When I met him four years ago, I felt he was a well-rounded young man. He worked bloody hard, listened a lot, asked questions; immediately you knew that here is a guy who is serious about his career,” Hogg revealed.

Hogg mentioned that India is traveling a lot in the coming years and in a place like Australia someone who gets a lot of overspin can be very successful and suggested Yadav has that capability.
