Over the last few days, the COVID-19 has been grabbing the headlines. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the entire country has gone into a lockdown. Due to the same, the people, including the ones in the cricket fraternity, have been staying at home. Subsequently, they have found out ways to spend some happy times, one of them is Hardik Pandya, the Indian all-round cricketer.

On Tuesday, March 24, he had every reason to cheer as his brother Krunal turned 29 years old. However, the current situation is such that he couldn’t have afforded to resorted to smearing his brother’s face with face. But that didn’t stop Hardik from making it a special day for his loved one. The Baroda cricketer posted a picture where he acted like feeding Krunal cake.

He captioned the picture and wrote, “Happy birthday bhai We’re looking after each other in isolation so here’s my zero calorie cake gift for you Love you loads @krunalpandya24,”

Here is Hardik Pandya’s post

Hardik’s comeback delayed

Hardik last played for India in the home T20Is against South Africa. But thereafter he developed a back-injury that halted his career for a brief while. Hardik then underwent a successful surgery in London. After the operation, he also thanked his fans for all the love and support. Earlier this year, Virat Kohli’s India toured New Zealand for a Test, T20I and an ODI series.

The India A team was also there and Hardik was picked for them. But to his dismay, his name was excluded after he failed to pass the fitness test. Nevertheless, the 26-year-old was picked for the Men in Blue’s three-match ODI series versus the Proteas. But the COVID-19 pandemic has further delayed his comeback. The opening match at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala was abandoned.

The other two games in Lucknow and Kolkata were abandoned due to the coronavirus debacle. Pandya was also set to ply his trade for the Mumbai Indians in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). But with the global situation deteriorating by the day, the T20 tournament may not even take place. Hence, Hardik may have to wait even further to make his return.
