Here's the amount top players in LPL are earning

The inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) is currently in progress with some of the top T20 and international players taking part in it. The tournament was in doubt until the last few weeks and given the history of postponements of Sri Lanka’s competitions, not many gave LPL a chance to get underway. However, the quality of cricket played so far has been impeccable.

The fans have already witnessed a Super Over while some of the top Sri Lankan players along with overseas ones, have set the stage on fire. One has to praise Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for organising the LPL during tough times. It has given a hope for the T20 freelancers and the Sri Lankan cricketers themselves who haven’t played any kind of cricket for long time due to COVID-19 outbreak.

Bangladesh team was set to visit Sri Lanka but due to quarantine regulations, the tour got cancelled. Nevertheless, the ongoing tournament has allowed the players to enjoy their time in the middle and also earn. Even the fans are excited to know how much the cricketers are earning through LPL.

Irfan Pathan is earning almost Rs 37 lakh

Irfan Pathan is among a few Indian cricketers to feature in the LPL at the moment. He is playing for the Kandy Tuskers and is warming the bench due to the injury he sustained in the first match of the season. He has been signed by the franchise for a whopping amount of Rs 36.7 lakh according to Times Now.

The likes of Shahid Afridi and Andre Russell also belong to the same bracket. Even the legendary South African Dale Steyn also earns a similar amount. Interestingly, the players who are earning the maximum amount are all Sri Lankan and they are, Dasun Shanaka, Thisara Perera, Angelo Mathews and Kusal Perera.

USD 25,000 (Approx.
