Ever since Shahid Afridi’s biography ‘Game Changer’ has released, a lot of revelations in it are making the headlines. Though Afridi’s real age has topped all of it and a lot is being said about the same. According to the book, Afridi was born in 1975 and the records which he held during his cricketing career might not have his name now. He, at the moment, is the youngest centurion in the ODI cricket.

He slammed the ton against Sri Lanka in 1996 and was told to be only 16 years old. However, even in the clippings of that innings, the broadcaster had shown his age as 21 which clears that Afridi was born in 1975. Also, in the book, it has been mentioned that he was 19 years old when he hit the century which has created more confusion. Only Afridi could’ve given a proper answer to all these doubts and the moment came during the book launch in Pakistan.

There’s some miscalculation

Shahid Afridi, during the launch event of the book, felt that the fans should know all the truth about him. While speaking about his real age, he clarified that he’s been too busy in the last few months and didn’t get time to read the book. Afridi also claimed that there’s been some miscalculation in the book itself and they are looking to correct it.

“Let me clear this. I always felt that my fans should know everything about me, about my age whatever it is. When I started writing the book, I wanted to let the fans know my age, doesn’t matter if the records don’t stay to my name then. I have no issues. But the things is, I am busy from last 7-8 months going to South Africa and Dubai that even I am yet to read the book properly.

“There’s some miscalculation. I have told to the concerned people in India and they’ve also realised this mistake. The e-copy of my book is coming soon and in that, my real age will be revealed,” Afridi said. Though it seems confusing how Afridi is yet to read his book, the upcoming copy of the book might finally stop all the debate on his age.
