Former Pakistan cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq reckoned that Babar Azam’s best is yet to come and the latter will reach his peak in his 30s. The 27-year-old Babar is currently a mainstay in Pakistan’s batting lineup, which has blown a little hot and cold over the last couple of years. The right-hander has already scored over 8,500 runs with 20 centuries and 55 half-centuries.

Along the way, he has also made own a number of batting records. On the back of his stupendous individual performance, Babar was also made the captain of the Pakistan national team across formats. Inzamam was amazed by his drive to succeed at the highest level. Moreover, Babar has played handy knocks for the Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League.

I haven’t seen such hunger in any other player, says Inzamam-ul-Haq

“A batter’s peak starts after he crosses 30, only then he gets to his peak and gives his best. Babar has yet to enter his 30s and he has already achieved a lot. I believe that his best and his peak is yet to come and he’ll serve Pakistan for a longer period and name almost every batting record to his credit,” Inzamam said on Geo News.

“The best thing I like about him is his hunger for runs; I haven’t seen such hunger in any other player. Another positive thing about his style is that Babar is always focused on his game. I see him breaking several cricketing records,” he stated.

Babar is set to lead Pakistan in their clash against India on Sunday, October 24 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Ahead of the marquee match, Inzamam reckoned that Virat Kohli will be under more pressure than Babar going into the encounter. Inzamam eked out three reasons to back his comments.

“Usually both the captains are under pressure in an India-Pakistan WC game, but this time Kohli will be under more pressure. Firstly, he’s leading the favourite side. Secondly, he has not produced big innings for two years, and then thirdly, this is his last tournament as captain,” Inzamam added.
