Inzamam-ul-Haq is often considered as one of the best batsmen of his generation. In fact, he is the finest that Pakistan has produced and the highest run-getter for the country at the international level. However, during his initial days at the highest level, Inzy did struggle a bit. In a recent interaction, Inzamam talked about one incident which deeply hurt him.

Recalling the incident, the former Pakistan captain said that he had once got out early and a senior player had been really harsh with. Though Inzy didn’t take the name, he went onto reveal how it mentally affected him. He revealed that he cried for half an hour and felt depressed the entire night.

The time when a senior player treated Inzamam-ul-Haq harshly

“I once got out early. I had mentioned this before; a senior player was really harsh with me on that day. I don’t think I have ever faced that level of harshness as on that day. I cried for half an hour. I was taking a shower and kept crying and I was depressed the entire night after that,” Inzamam revealed according to Cricket Pakistan.

Inzamam then revealed how things just got to worse from bad. He explained that the very next day, he had to sit with his captain Imran Khan on the plane. He thought that after listening so much the day before, he would get another earful from his captain.

“Next day, while boarding our plane, I was trying to find my seat. I found out that Imran Khan had the seat next to mine. I thought that when the time is bad it is completely bad. I had to listen to so much yesterday and today is going to be no different. I sat in my seat,” he added.

However, Inzamam was instrumental in Pakistan’s victory during the 1992 world cup. In the semi-final against New Zealand, it was his knock of 60 off 37 balls which brought Pakistan back in the match. Even in the final against England, he scored a crucial knock of 42 runs from just 35 balls. All this time, he had the backing of his skipper Imran Khan.
