Namibia and Oman crushed Bermuda and Nigeria respectively in two low-scoring games on the sixth day of the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier 2019. Bernard Scholtz, with a three-wicket haul, helped restrict Bermuda to just 106 runs. Namibia completed the chase with six wickets to spare after their opener took them off to a great start. Niko Davin scored 37 runs in only 12 balls. In the Oman-Nigeria game, Aamir Kaleem and Bilal Khan were on fire with the ball.

While the former picked up 4 wickets, his teammate accounted for three. Thus, Oman was bowled out for a mere 71 runs. Courtesy Jatinder Singh’s 22-ball 48, Oman chased the target down in just 7 overs with 7 wickets to spare. Half-centuries from Irfan Karim and Aman Gandhi guided Kenya to a comfortable win against Singapore. The team chased down 158 runs in 18.5 overs after Elijah Otieno and Lucas Oluoch picked up three wickets each earlier in the match for Kenya.

The game between Ireland and Canada was closer and more exciting than many expected. Yet, Ireland fell short eventually and there were no miracles of any sorts. Skipper Navneet Dhaliwal and Nitish Kumar pushed Canada’s score to 156 in the first innings by scoring fifties. Even though Ireland got to a good start, they lost quick wickets in the middle overs. At 85/6, it seemed they would get nowhere close to the target. But the lower-order batsmen fought back. However, the team lost by 10 runs.

In the final game of the day, Scott McKechnie’s unbeaten 40 turned out to be the difference between Hong Kong and Jersey. His knock allowed Hong Kong to get to a respectable total of 144 runs. Then, the bowlers did a fine job to restrict the opposition to 136 runs which handed over Hong Kong an 8-run win.
