It is way too early to predict who will end up on top of the pile in this World Cup and another facet not strengthening our argument is the unpredictability of some results. Not many would’ve given Bangladesh or Pakistan a chance against their respective oppositions in the last few days, but they did manage to stun these sides and are on the verge of causing more unexpected results.

A lot of experts are already finding their predictions getting crest-fallen, with some underdogs capitalizing on the pressure that’s already existing on the favourites. That is what makes this tournament so special for everyone and for sure, it will make up for more interesting contests as it progresses.

But going by team strengths, player form and some other factors, there are some sides that stand out to finish in the top four for sure. Although they might face some hindrances, it will be very difficult for some of these teams to not go through to the final four stages and compete strongly for the title.

To begin with, they have perhaps the best squad strength among the current crop. They have good options both in the batting and bowling unit, which makes them a really scary unit to deal with. Australia also have most of their players in good form, which sets the stage brilliantly for another Australian assault in World Cups.

They obviously have the history of finishing higher up the ladder in this tournament, but at the beginning of this year, no one would’ve batted for them to finish in the top four. They have plugged in all the gaps and are off to a winning start in the campaign that matters the most. They have some big games lined up in the next week which should determine how far they’ll go.
