England and Bangladesh have made a pretty similar start to their 2019 World Cup campaign. Both teams started with a victory versus South Africa at the Kennington Oval in London. However, they lost to Pakistan and New Zealand respectively, and are placed in the middle of the points table. The Three Lions and the Tigers are now scheduled to lock horns on Saturday at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

They have faced each other three times thus far in the World Cup. After the Brits rolled over Bangladesh in 2007, the latter came back strong, beating England in 2011 and 2015 respectively. Their victory in the last World Cup also saw the Poms getting eliminated before the quarterfinals. This time around, the hosts are the favourites, but the Tigers have the firepower to defy the odds and turn over Eoin Morgan and Co.

Here is the guide to select the Captain and vice-captain for Dream11 Fantasy:

Captain Suggestions:

Joe Root

Root is in good form in this World Cup. He got a half-century in the first game and followed it up with a century versus Pakistan. He has scored those runs at a decent pace as well. Root isn’t a power-hitter like some of his other teammates, but he brings a calming effect with his matured approach. The right-hander is also an efficient player of spin and will want to deliver in the next match.

Jonny Bairstow

After getting out for a duck to Imran Tahir versus South Africa, Jonny Bairstow was seeming to get his rhythm back in the game against Pakistan. However, he got out to Wahab Riaz, poking tentatively at the leather. Going by his standards, the 29-year-old hasn’t had the best of starts, but it’s only a matter of time before the Yorkshireman comes into his own and decimates oppositions.

Shakib Al Hasan

The Jessore-born Shakib Al Hasan delivered in both matches thus far. He played his 200th ODI versus the Black Caps and made it memorable, having scored 64 runs and picking up the openers- Colin Munro and Martin Guptill. His performance couldn’t take his team over the line though. England won’t be an easy proposition and Bangladesh would be hoping for their premier all-rounder to fire.

Vice-captain suggestions

Soumya Sarkar

Soumya Sarkar batted with passion in the first match and got 42. Even in the second encounter, he looked promising and got to 25, but a rash-stroke led to his dismissal. Matt Henry rattled his woodwork. His attacking style of play has helped the Tigers race away at the start in the mandatory powerplay on a number of instances. Versus England, the Satkhira-born’s role will be an important one.

Jason Roy

Roy scored 54 against the Proteas but perished to an expansive stroke off Andile Phehlukwayo. Second time around, he fell prey to Shadab Khan, trying to attempt a sweep shot. The last few days have been tremendous for the Durban-born as he has tasted very little failure. He’ll be keen to be amongst the runs and take his team to their second victory in the mega event.

Tamim Iqbal

The left-handed Tamim Iqbal has played a couple of games after recovering from a wrist injury. However, the 30-year-old has looked far from his best. In the two matches, he tried to put his head down, but couldn’t get the measure of the conditions and got out to the fast bowlers both times. Last time when the Brits locked horns with the Tigers, Tamim scored 128 runs.
