The defeat in the semi-final of World Cup 2015 would still be fresh in the minds of some of the Indian players. To put it into words, it was nothing less than heart-wrenching to see former Indian skipper MS Dhoni break into tears at the post-match presentation. A lot has changed since then. Virat Kohli has taken over from Dhoni as the skipper of Team India. For Australia, Steve Smith, who was expected to lead them in the tournament, had to be sacked due to the well-known unforeseen circumstances.
Both these teams look extremely strong on paper and have started off the tournament on a good note. The rivalry between both these teams has been quite intense in recent times. Thus, we’ve got a great contest on our hands on Sunday in the World Cup. While India will be seeking an act of revenge, Australia will hope to continue its dominance. The massive challenge, though, for you Dream11 Fantasy team fanatics, will be picking the right team for this game.
Here we bring you the Dream11 Fantasy team based on the stats of the players:
Wicket-keepers:
There are three options and you’ve got to pick one. The statistics of none of these keepers are really encouraging but you’ve got to have at least one in your Dream11 Fantasy team. You can possibly go with Alex Carey who scored 128 runs, grabbed 7 catches and affected 2 stumpings in the last five outings. MS Dhoni will not be a bad choice either and there isn’t a huge differentiating factor.
Batsmen:
In the batting department, there are some excellent options available. Rohit Sharma, who scored a century just in the last game, is the leading run-scorer amongst all in the last five games and should be the captain of your team. Australian skipper Aaron Finch is not far behind and can be the vice-captain. Even though he consumes 10.5 credits, Virat Kohli is a must in your side. Shikhar Dhawan and Usman Khawaja, at 9.5 and 8.5 credits respectively, are worth having in your team.
All-Rounders:
Glenn Maxwell might have got out for a duck in the last game against Windies. But still, he has accumulated 243 runs in the last 5 ODI games and even picked up two wickets. He should be the first-choice all-rounder in the team. The other player you can pick is Hardik Pandya who scored 76 runs and picked up 4 wickets in just as many outings. Even though these two take up 18 credits combined, you’d still be left with sufficient credits to complete your bowling attack.
Bowlers:
Pat Cummins has picked up 15 wickets in the last five ODI games that he played. His average, economy, strike rate – all have been excellent. Thus, he is a must-have in your side. Mitchell Starc picked up a 5-wicket haul in the last match and thus his overall stats have improved. The final pick in your team can be Indian wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal who picked up 10 wickets in the last five outings.
