India and Afghanistan are scheduled to cross swords in Bangalore for the one-off Test, which starts on June 14. The match is also the visitors maiden contest in whites after they were crowned with the Test status last year. However, the gloomy atmosphere in Bangalore isn’t a joyful news for both the teams, ahead of the historic match.

The weather in Bangalore has been a tad indifferent with constant spells of rain and the sun has also played hide and seek. Meanwhile, the groundsmen are facing their own set of difficulties owing to the conditions in the metropolitan city. The match is a few days away and they are finding it difficult to present proper practice pitches owing to the inconsistent weathers as per reports in Times Now.

An epic match in store

The Indian team members are slated to hit the nets from Monday and the staff will have to pull a rabbit out of the hat in order to set everything in place for the hosts. Nevertheless, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium is deemed to possess the most efficient drainage system, which is definitely a positive angle to the problems faced by the ground authorities.

The Indians will also go through a mandatory yo-yo test in order to prove their fitness before the commencement of the Test. It started on Saturday and will end today. It has also been learned that the players who fail to clear the Test will be dropped from the team. Virat Kohli, who suffered a neck sprain during the Indian Premier League (IPL) last month, will also undergo a fitness test on June 15.

Thereafter a decision on his participation for the England series will be taken. The Indian skipper will miss the Afghanistan Test and Ajinkya Rahane has been handed over the mantle for the contest. The Afghanistan players already reached Bangalore yesterday and the excitement surrounding the encounter is at its peak.
