India and England appear to be the most balanced sides ahead of T20 WC: Rashid Latif

The T20 World Cup 2021 is all set to commence in Oman and the UAE from September 17 and teams would be putting their best foot forward to claim the glory. Talking in the same context, the former cricketer of Pakistan Rashid Latif added that India and England appear to be the two most balanced sides ahead of the high-profile event.

It is known that West Indies are the defending champions of the T20 WC as they bagged the title in 2016. Latif feels that West Indies always remains a dangerous side and can do wonders any time. Talking about Pakistan, the former cricketer mentioned that he wouldn’t write them off as they have the capability of surprising many and changing the momentum of the game.

“India and England appear to be the most balanced sides in the tournament while West Indies always remain a dangerous side but I wouldn’t write Pakistan off as if they click, they could gain momentum and surprise many people,” said Rashid Latif as quoted by Circle of Cricket.

Talking about Pakistan, they received backlash after announcing their squad and are reportedly willing to make some changes in their squad. ICC has given time till October 10 to all the teams to amend their final squads. However, Latif stated earlier that if Pakistan needs to change its 15-member squad, chief selector Mohammad Wasim should resign as he failed at his job in the first place.

“Now if they go ahead and make changes in the main 15-member squad then the chief selector must ethically resign and so should the other selectors. Because they are responsible for selecting the squad and if changes are made it means they failed to do their jobs properly the first time around,” said Latif earlier.

Pakistan’s announced squad was amid a lot of criticism as it failed to mention senior batters like Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and opening batter Fakhar Zaman (reserves). Pakistan will play their opening clash against India on October 24 at Dubai International Stadium under the leadership of Babar Azam.
