India vs Australia: Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah ignore Rohit Sharma in Vizag T20I

India and Australia played out a thriller in the first of the two-match T20I series in Vizag. The game went down the wire till the last ball and it was the smartness from the duo of Pat Cummins and Jhye Richardson that undid the hosts in the final over of the game. Many are lauding the team’s efforts for taking the game to that stage while defending a mediocre 126. However, one incident of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah ignoring Rohit Sharma is going viral more than anything else.

The incident possibly took place during the 19th over of the chase when Australia needed 16 runs to win from the last two overs. The onus was on Bumrah to deliver the goods and he did profusely scalping a couple of wickets while conceding only two runs to put India in the driver’s seat. During the over, Bumrah and Kohli came together to discuss a plan and had Rohit Sharma also around.

But Kohli directed the bowler about the plan and didn’t let the vice-captain of the team to talk. In the video that is going viral, Rohit Sharma could be seen standing haplessly watching at both of them and finally steps aside to go to his fielding position before the ball is delivered.

India keen on levelling the series

Despite Jasprit Bumrah’s efforts, India lost the game as Umesh Yadav failed to defend 14 runs in the last over of the game. The Men in Blue now will not be able to win the series as it is only a two-match contest between the two teams. They will be keen enough though to level the series which has happened in the last couple of T20I series between India and Australia.

Australia, on the other hand, have a great chance to win their maiden T20 series in India and they might be feeling more confident after a last-ball win in the opener.
