India is on the verge of their Test series opener on 2nd October 2019. They are ready to host Proteas in the longest format after four years. South Africa is scheduled to play a three-match Test series, starting 2nd October and will be followed by the matches in Pune and Ranchi on 10th and 19th October.

Indian Team looks in solid touch who has been in top form. India’s last series defeat in Test came back against England in 2018 and it will be a difficult situation for South Africa who will also be struggling to find the best combination against the number one team in Tests.

A good thing about Team India in this Test series is that they are coming out with a new sponsor against the visitors. BCCI had already made an announcement about the new sponsor in July that Byju will take over the rights of sponsors from the Chinese mobile manufacturer. Byju’s is a Bengaluru-based educational technology and online tutorial firm.

Oppo signed the deal in 2017 as the sponsor of Team India

Oppo and BCCI signed a deal in 2017 a five-year period, was reportedly signed by the manufacturer worth Rs 1079 crore, but there was a clause that allows the transfer of sponsorship on the basis of which Byju’s is assigned as the new sponsor of Indian jersey.

It was earlier announced that from September the name of the tutorial firm will be seen on the jersey of Team India. “Byju’s will be taking over all obligations of the current team sponsor OPPO mobiles India private limited (OPPO). Byju’s will now be seen on the Indian team jersey from September 2019 when the home series against South Africa begins,”  BCCI CEO Rahul Johri said in his statement back in July as quoted by News18.

Before heading for the 1st Test, BCCI has released a video in which Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, Rishabh Pant and other players were seen posing with the new Test jersey. In this new jersey, the name of the sponsor is written in Baby Pink color and has got black stripes on both sides of it.
