Once a consistent opener in the Indian squad, Gautam Gambhir has been a long lost commodity in the side. He was a prominent member of the national side for a number of years and played a pivotal role in India’s victories, the two most notable being in the 2007 ICC World T20 final and 1011 ICC World Cup.

But the emergence of the openers like Murali Vijay, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul have kept Gambhir out of the side. Very recently, he was called back in the Test squad but after a couple of appearances was again dropped. But the 35-year-old is not willing to give up just yet.

In IPL10, he has scored 387 runs in 10 matches so far at a marvelous average of 55.29 and a strike rate of 135.31. The left-hander has notched up 4 fifties so far and provided great platforms for Kolkata Knight Riders on most occasions that have enabled them the pole position on the points table.
