Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of the most valuable players in India. He has proved himself in all three formats of the game for the ‘ men in blue’. He has been contributing with both bat and ball over the years for India. He has done brilliantly for his franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last few seasons of the IPL.
The experience helped him to improve
Bhuvneshwar Kumar admitted that it was not easy for him at the start, but the experienced gained over the last few years helped him to improve.
“The big change is experience, learning the things. At any stage, initially, you don’t know much about those places or that environment, so (when) you keep playing you get to know, what the things are like there. Nothing is easy. So, yes experience – which I have gained over the last two-three years – really improved me as a bowler,” the 28-year-old told PTI.
Fitness is very important
Bhuvneshwar Kumar said that he is working hard on his fitness as he recognizes the importance of fitness to keep playing at the highest level. He said that he is committed to improve his fitness and improve himself as the bowler.
“No, nothing, no special thing. I have been working in general, the way you do – match practice, fitness drills and individual skill – there is nothing special. Commitment to improving my fitness and improve as a bowler”. The pace bowler said
The all-rounder admitted that it is never easy to bowl in the T20 format as the batsmen are always looking to attack. He stressed the importance of strategy to stop the batsmen from dominating.
“If you don’t do a good planning or if you don’t have a good strategy it (will) always be difficult, because there is power-play with only two fielders outside the circle, so good chances of you getting hit for runs. It is all about pure strategy, planning, and execution,” he said.
Happy with the good start to the season
The right-arm pacer further said that he is happy with the start of the season as SRH won 3 of the first 4 matches. He said that he is feeling confident and looking forward to the rest of the tournament. He also praised his captain Kane Williamson who has led the team brilliantly.
“He has always been a good captain, he has captained New Zealand for many years and has been successful. He is a calm guy, so whatever situation comes, he thinks calmly about that and you can see the results in the first three matches. He loves to keep simple,” he said about Kane Williamson.
