Indian PM Narendra Modi sends a special message for the Women's team

He met all the 14 amazing cricketers from India and separately acknowledged their contribution.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his fondness for the game of cricket in past and tries his level best to boost the morale of Indian players in the best way possible. After a successful stint in recently concluded Women’s World Cup 2017, Team India has been getting a grand reception back home which was followed by their interaction with PM Modi.

The members of the team were facilitated by cash rewards, which was followed by confabulation with Mr. Modi. After meeting the squad, he took to Twitter and tweeted about his interaction with Mithali Raj & Co. From his personal Twitter handle, he sent 14 tweets mentioning all the players who were a part of Indian unit with a special message.

The first tweet was for Captain Mithali Raj, who led the side to final. She has not only played her role with perfection, but has been an inspiration for the next generation of girls to choose cricket as a profession. He tweeted, “Delighted to meet proud skipper of a Proud team, @M_Raj03. Congratulated her for her leadership and her game.”

His next tweet was for Smriti Mandhana – “Met @mandhana_smriti. This remarkable player overcame an injury & played the WC. Her innings against England at Derby was stupendous.”

For Punam Raut  he wrote, “Was happy to meet Poonam Raut, who played consistently well through the World Cup. Her contribution to the team is invaluable.”

The message for Harmanpreet Kaur read- “With the talented@ImHarmanpreet…congratulated her for her memorable innings against Australia & wished her the best for the future.”

He appreciated Deepti Sharma stating – “Interacted with this all rounder par excellence, Deepti Sharma. At a rather young age, her remarkable accomplishments make us proud.”

For Veda Krishnamurthy another key batter in the team, the Indian PM wrote- “Was great meeting you,@vedakmurthy08. Keep playing with the same focus and determination. Good luck!”

It was Sushma Verma’s turn then – “With @ImSushVerma…a reliable wicket keeper and wonderful player.

The legend Jhulan Goswami has made the country proud on several occassions, to acknowledge her efforts the PM wrote- “Jhulan Goswami is renowned not only in India but across the world for her bowling. Had a very good interaction with her today.”

Shikha Pandey impressed Mr Modi with her promise, he tweeted, “Shikha Pandey is a promising player who made India proud in the recently concluded World Cup.”

Poonam Yadav made an immense contribution to the team and was rightly acknowledged. He wrote, “The contribution of Poonam Yadav to the team is immense. Spoke to her on a wide range of issues during our interaction.”

The message for Rajeshwari Gayakward was – “Appreciated Rajeshwari Gayakwad’s consistent bowling in the World Cup. Delighted to meet her today.”

For Nuzhat Parween, he tweeted, “Met Nuzhat Parween. Had a very good interaction with her earlier today.”

Like Nuzhat, Mona Meshram was also a part of Indian World Cup squad. PM wrote, “Interacted with the well known cricketer Mona Meshram, whose batting is admired by many.”

Though Mansi Joshi didn’t feature in the playing eleven but surely is a future star. “Had a fruitful discussion with Mansi Joshi,” wrote the Indian PM.
