The Royal Challengers Bangalore have had a forgettable season this year. With only two wins this season, their time in the field has been miserable. Having finished as the finalists in the previous edition of the tournament, little did the fans imagine that RCB would end up at the bottom of the points table. Despite having failed on most crucial moments this season, RCB camp has still received good support from their fans.

Hence, going into their final game this season, they will have their pride at stake in the match. Also, they would want to wrap up the forgettable season with a win for the fans. RCB will play the Delhi Daredevils in the away game at the Feroze Shah Kotla. The result of the match is not going to affect the points table by anyway. The Delhi Daredevils are also out of the contention for the playoffs.

The last time these two sides had met in the tournament, the Royal Challengers Bangalore had managed to upset the Daredevils at Bengaluru. It was one of those rare wins for them this season. Talking about the recent forms, the RCB team has been on a losing spree with multiple batting collapses this season. On the other hand, the Daredevils will be having the winning momentum after having beaten Mumbai Indians in their last game.

Here is the Royal Challengers Bangalore Predicted XI for the DD v RCB encounter:

Openers (Mandeep Singh and Chris Gayle)

Mandeep Singh has had a very quiet outing this season. The batsman has had the opportunity to bat at multiple positions this year. He started off with the opening slot, was then tried in the middle-order, and tested as a finisher. However, he failed to capitalize on the chances that beckoned his doors. He should have made more out of the opportunities that came his way.

West Indies hard-hitting batsman Chris Gayle has been a veteran of the shortest format of the game. Gayle has been a perennial performer in the tournament history. This year, he did not have too many moments of joy to cherish this season. His solitary high was a brilliant fifty that he hit in one of the fixtures in the earlier fixtures. His failure has clearly reflected on the points table for RCB.

Middle Order (Virat Kohli, Travis Head, Kedar Jadhav)

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli has had a very average season by his standards. In the last season, the entire team looked up to him for inspiration. He was a juggernaut with the bat. However, this season, he had only 2 fifties to boast about in the first 13 matches. His efforts came in the losing cause and that did not do much good to his confidence. Kohli will hope for an improved performance in this game.

Travis Head has been the underrated player for the RCB camp. He has not been the most frequent name in the playing eleven this season. But, in the limited opportunities that he has got, Head has made a statement with his willow. He has a top score of 75 to his name which justifies his selection in the playing eleven.

Kedar Jadhav came in with a big reputation in the tournament. His superlative knock in the game against the Delhi Daredevils in the early stages gave the fans some hope that Jadhav would be the finisher for them. But, the veteran Maharashtra batsman has failed to replicate his heroics in the matches that followed. Behind the stumps, he has been very unimpressive.

All-rounders (Pawan Negi, Shane Watson)

Pawan Negi has emerged out to be a very impressive player for the Royal Challengers Bangalore this season. Negi was not the part of the starting eleven in the initial stages of the season but soon made himself a regular face in the lineup. He is yet to show his might with the bat in hand. However, Negi had been very good with the ball. He has consistently bowled economical spells.

Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has had the worst season of IPL for him on the personal front. Neither has he clicked as a batsman nor has he been effective with the ball. Barring one game against the Daredevils where he gave away just 2 runs in the penultimate overs to seal the game for his team, Watson has very bad memories from the season.

Bowlers (Aniket Choudhary, Sreenath Arvind, Yuzvendra Chahal, Samuel Badree)

The RCB bowling has been heavily relying on the services of young leggie Yuzvendra Chahal. He has arguably been the most effective bowler for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. His consistent performances are the solitary bright spot in the lackluster outing for the franchise.

Chahal has been very well supported by the West Indies import Samuel Badree. Badree has been bowling in the powerplay and has been very economical with the ball. He has also picked up wickets at will and that sets up his case to get yet another match. Barring the game against the Kolkata Knight Riders at Bengaluru, Badree has bowled very economically.

In the pace department, the team has been doing a decent job with the Indian duo of Sreenath Arvind and Aniket Choudhary. Arvind is a veteran in domestic circuit and is hence expected to be bowling with guile and precision. Choudhary has been bowling well as well with the left arm angle coming to his advantage.
