IPL 2015 – SRH vs RR: Graphical Analysis: It seems like there is no stopping Rajasthan Royals in this IPL season, as they registered their fourth consecutive win, with Sunrisers Hyderabad on the receiving end. RR managed to win the close game, which went till last ball by 6 wickets at the Dr. YSR ACA-VCDA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Match Summary:

Sunrisers Hyderabad were asked to bat first at their new home ground by the Rajasthan Royals. SRH looked like beginning off well before Rajasthan bowlers struck back to back to see the hosts struggling. Even though the Sunrisers got a partnership going between Morgan and Ojha, the runrate was far under 6. Late strikes from Bopara and Ashish could only help them to put on 127 for 5.

Chasing not so big total, Rajasthan Royals had a good opening stand. With some disciplined bowling for Sunrisers, Royals felt uneasy in scoring quickly. Sunrisers looked like coming back in to game with consecutive wickets but a sensible knock from Rahane guided his side towards victory. However after Rahane’s dismissal the game went down till the last ball, but Rajasthan Royals managed to win by 6 wickets by finishing off with a four.

Partnerships:

Sunrisers didn’t have any good partnerships going in their innings which was the main reason for ending up with a below par total. Their highest stand in the innings was the 4th wicket stand between Eoin Morgan and Naman Ojha who put on 42 runs but it consumed 9 overs. Ravi Bopara and Ashish Reddy’s stand of 31 in 21 balls played crucial role in taking SRH past 120.

Rajasthan Royals didn’t need any decent partnerships going after getting a brilliant opening from Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson. The both right handers put on 64 for the first wicket in 62 deliveries and paved a way for their side’s comfortable win. However, Rahane, who looked to finish off along with Binny after quick wickets, got out in penultimate over. But Faulkner, was too good to finish it off with a four on the last ball after a dramatic comeback from SRH.

Ajinkya Rahane [62 runs, 56 balls; 9 fours]:

The Rajasthan Royals’ opening batsman, Ajinkya Rahane took his team towards fourth consecutive victory. Rahane played a sensible knock with help off 9 fours. He started off well by building a stand with Samson. Ajinkya looked steady despite his side lost couple of quick wickets after the long stand. He completed his fifty in 45 deliveries, and scored 62 runs before he chipped one on to his stumps. Rahane was awarded the man of the match for his fine innings.

Dhawal Kulkarni [3-1-9-2]:

The Rajasthan Royals’ seamer, Dhawal Kulkarni played an important role in getting the early lead in the game for his team. He managed to get an edge off Shikhar Dhawan on the last ball off his first over. Kulkarni followed it with a wicket on first ball of his second over as he trapped KL Rahul in front of stumps.

He kept Morgan in his control as the England batsman failed to score any runs in the remaining deliveries of the over. Kulkarni could only get 3 overs to bowl but he did play a crucial part by picking wickets and containing runs as his 3 overs spell contained 13 dots.

Ravi Bopara [4-0-18-2]:

Ravi Bopara, with his slow medium pace, yet again managed to get the batsmen deceived. It was Bopara’s first over which gave the breakthrough SRH was waiting for about 10 overs. He kept bowling the slower ones and made tough for the batsman to score. His third over produced another wicket as Karun Nair departed after giving a return catch. Bopara’s 4 overs went for just 18 runs and had seen 12 dot balls in it.

Pravin Tambe [4-0-21-2]:

It was the spell of Pravin Tambe, which destroyed hopes of Ojha and Morgan to strike big in the end over. His first over went for just 4 runs but the first ball of the second, got the wicket of Ojha, who got deceived by sharply turned delivery. Tambe struck once again, as he got rid of Morgan in his third over with a flipper, trapping the left hander in front of stumps. However, Tambe’s last over went for 11 runs, he still managed to end up with decent figures of 21 for 2.
