It was a thumping victory for Chennai Super Kings against the Rahane-led Rajasthan Royals. CSK opener Shane Watson was the one who started the proceedings and till the final ball of the match, it was CSK’s domination that propelled them to the top of the points table.
Coming to the game, MS Dhoni lost the toss and Rahane elected to bowl first. The opening duo started to attack the Rajasthan bowling line-up. Rayudu left the crease after adding 50-run opening partnership but Shane Watson’s dominance continued till the penultimate delivery of the first innings. He ended up with a score of 106(57).
A fan catches the attention
What caught the attention during the first innings was Dhoni’s walk to the crease. A die-hard fan of MS Dhoni ran into the batsman when he was on his way to the crease. Dhoni without losing cool had a few words and sent him back. The fan was seen returning back to the crowd with a sense of satisfaction as shown in the video below.

RR were never in the game
CSK posted a total of 204/5 in 20 overs. Coming to the chase, Rajasthan Royals never looked in the game as they continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. Their bold move of opening with Klaasen was a bad one as the wicketkeeper-batsman just added 7 runs to their paltry total.
All the CSK bowlers picked at least one wicket except Ravindra Jadeja who bowled just one over and conceded six runs. RR were bundled out for 148 runs in 18.5 overs. This defeat will surely affect their net run rate, which will come into effect during the business end of the tournament.
CSK will next play against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Sunday. The MS Dhoni-led side will aim to continue their winning momentum when they take on SRH.
