After all the big names in the international cricket, it was time for the uncapped batsmen to try their luck in the ongoing mega auctions of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the ongoing U19 Cricket World Cup surely played its part when the teams bid for the youngsters of Indian cricket. However, it was Rahul Tripathi who garnered all the attention and was scalped by Rajasthan Royals to once again play under Steve Smith like the last year.

Surya Kumar Yadav went for Rs 3.2 Crore as his local franchise Mumbai Indians picked him. The U19 star Himanshu Rana and Mumbai player Siddhesh lad were the only unsold players in the list of the uncapped Indian players. Manan Vohra benefitted from his stint with Kings XI Punjab last year and attracted a decent number of bids this time around. He will be glad to play under the Indian captain Virat Kohli this year as Royal Challengers bought him for Rs. 1.1 Crore.

How much did Shubman Gill earn?

The U19 star Shubman Gill who is currently representing India in the U19 World Cup was surely going to earn much more than his base price. His Bradman like average at the junior level helped him attract a lot of franchises and was finally snapped up by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs. 1.8 Crore. KKR continued to show their faith in the domestic cricketers as they went for Ishank Jaggi who was sold at his base price of Rs. 20 Lakhs.

It was Mayank Agarwal who lit up the Ranji season this year and he was going to lit up the auction as well. Though all the teams didn’t go all out to buy him. There was some fight between few franchises as they wanted the dynamic all-rounder to make the difference for their side. Finally, he went for Rs 1 Crore as KXIP were happy after buying him.
