Regarded as one of the finest leg spinners to have played the game, Imran Tahir is a valuable asset in any bowling rank. He has a total of 47 wickets in the IPL. The 38-year-old spinner who went unsold last year was brought in as a replacement of Mitchell Marsh for the Rising Pune Super Giants. What followed was an amazing tally of 18 wickets within 12 games.

He still failed to find many takers in this year’s IPL auction. Indeed he was bought for his base price of ₹1 crore by the Chennai Super Kings. With the CSK franchise already boasting of spinners like Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh and Karn Sharma in their ranks, there is already a healthy competition for him. Also with fitness concerns and the World Cup next year, it’s highly unlikely we may see Tahir again in the IPL.
