The Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) team is on a roll this year in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season. They’ve won five out of the six games and sit on the top of the points table with 10 points against their name. The team has found the right combinations early in the tournament and there is no stopping them. Chris Gayle and KL Rahul have been the mainstays of their batting lineup. Although the middle order looks slightly vulnerable, the openers are compensating for the fragile middle order.
However, when their openers and other batsmen failed to fire against Delhi Daredevils yesterday, their bowlers took the onus upon themselves. They managed to defend the lowest total this season and it has been an all-round show from the team thus far. But, apart from their on-field heroics, there is something else that is catching the attention of the fans. The banters from the KXIP Twitter handle is grabbing a lot of attention with the witty tweets and replies.
KXIP – Masters of Twitter banters
Kings XI is taking the entertainment off the field as well. Their Twitter banters are absolutely amusing and a treat for the fans. They’ve taken a dig at quite a few teams with their tweets and are surprising many with the same. KKR, SRH, CSK, DD, Deepak Hooda and many others weren’t spared by KXIP’s twitter handle. Here is a look at some of their best Twitter banters.
Delhi Daredevils taste their own medicine
Delhi’s Twitter handle took a dig at the KXIP team after they lost early wickets in their innings. The leg-spinners did well for DD and they took it to Twitter to appreciate their efforts.
Googly nahi samajh paa raha bhai koi!
Too good, @MishiAmit. Keeping it tight!
KXIP – 91/4 in 13.4 overs.

However, KXIP decided not to spare DD for this tweet after they won the game. The KXIP leg-spinners as well did really well for the team and played a crucial role in the win. KXIP were quick to capitalise on this and came up with this:

Rainstorm or the Gayle storm?
KKR faced KXIP at the Eden Gardens in a rain-affected game. KXIP walked off with an easy win against the hosts after the target was made a merry by the DLS method. KKR’s Twitter handle shared a weather update during that match and said that the drizzle was getting heavier.
KXIP were 31 runs ahead of the DLS par score (65/0) when rain stopped play after 8.2 overs. The drizzle has turned to heavy showers right now. Cut off time for play to resume is 8:10 PM IST. ?#KKRvKXIP #IPL2018 #KKRHaiTaiyaar

Yet again, KXIP was quick to capitalise on the moment and replied by asking KKR if they would prefer a Rainstorm or the Gayle Storm.
What would you prefer? ?

Deepak Hooda got a special warning on his birthday
KXIP faced off SRH at Mohali a few days back when it was Deepak Hooda’s birthday. KXIP wished Hooda and also cautioned him about the Gayle Storm. Just as Gayle begun his innings, SRH tweeted that he was getting into the groove. Punjab replied to this by saying that they cautioned them about the Gayle Storm earlier. Later, Hooda too replied by thanking them and in return cautioned them about SRH’s home game against them to be played on 26th.
Wishing you a very happy birthday @imDeepakHooda
May you remain unaffected by the Gaylestorm ?#LivePunjabiPlayPunjabi#KXIPvSRH

Kings v/s Kings – Please relax Mr.Gayle
The first signs of Gayle storm this year came against Chennai Super Kings. Ashwin took everyone by surprise when he drafted Gayle into the playing XI. He wasn’t really slated to play that game but was given the opportunity. Furthermore, to everyone’s surprise, Gayle showed some great form and tonked the CSK bowlers all around right from the start. CSK’s Twitter handle came up with a witty tweet asking him to take some rest. The Kings then welcomed CSK to Mohali.
Gayle – please take some rest! For one over atleast! Pretty please! #WhistlePodu #Yellove #KXIPvCSK??
