The game between SRH and CSK once again proved the uncertainty of the T20 format as the home team came out fighting from tatters to lose only four runs in the end. Kane Williamson and Yusuf Pathan fought back when they needed 95 from last 38 balls by hitting seven sixes in the space of three overs. Rashid Khan hit 16 runs from the first three balls he bowled as the equation came down to six needed from the last ball. Dwayne Bravo held his nerves to help CSK move up to top of the points table with this win.

Chennai Super Kings struggled to score runs in the powerplay overs against some tight bowling. They crawled to 41/2 at the end of nine overs before Ambati Rayudu took on the home team bowlers scoring 79 in just 37 balls with nine fours and four sixes. By ending on the winning side, Rayudu edged out Williamson to become the most valuable player of the game. The middle-order batsman gained a value of 87.5 lakhs for his innings which 5.57 times his average match salary as he was bought for only 2.2 crores by CSK. Ricky Bhui turned out to be the liable player of the game as he bagged a 5-ball duck on his IPL debut.

Kane Williamson led his team from the front with a brilliant inning of 84 after they lost three wickets in the first five overs. He scored 84 in just 51 balls with five fours and five sixes as he gained a value of 93.975 lakhs according to CricTracker’s player value algorithm. Williamson’s match value is equivalent to 4.37 as he was bought by SRH for 3 crores. Yusuf Pathan‘s first big impact in the season nearly won his team the game. He added 79 runs in 45 balls with Williamson scoring 45 off 27 balls with one four and four sixes. His match value of 49.5 lakhs is 3.65 times his average match salary.

Suresh Raina‘s first fifty of the season helped him gain a value of 68.5 lakhs while Deepak Chahar’s 3-wicket haul was valued at 38.5 lakhs which is 6.74 times his average match salary. Shakib Al Hasan’s all-round performances helped him to gain a value of 49.5 lakhs. Sam Billings had no real contribution to the game but was a part of the winning team’s playing XI.
