Sunrisers Hyderabad continued their winning streak as they now conquered the Jaipur by defending a 151-run total against the Rajasthan Royals. Some brilliant bowling at the death overs restricted the Sunrisers to 151/7 who managed only 42 runs in the last 40 balls. The Royals skipper Ajinkya Rahane anchored the run-chase with an unbeaten fifty. However, Rahane’s innings wasn’t enough to take his team to a victory with the required rate going past 12 in the last three overs.
The SRH skipper Kane Williamson elected to bat first after winning the toss. He along with Alex Hales added 92 runs for the 2nd wicket in 12.2 overs to take the team towards a big total. Williamson hit seven fours and two sixes in the 43 balls he faced for his 63. He turned out to be the most valuable player of the game for his knock that was valued at 68.5 lakhs as per the CricTracker’s player value algorithm. Rahul Tripathi turned out to be the liable player of the game as he scored only four runs failing to give a good start in the chase.
Ajinkya Rahane‘s innings earned him a value of 73.5 lakhs but wasn’t enough to get two points for his team. Alex Hales’ long-waited IPL debut came in this game where he scored only 45 in the 39 balls. His innings was quite slow by his own standards but was crucial in team’s perspective. His innings was valued at 52 lakhs which is half of his auction base price of 1 crore. The England player was brought in as a replacement for their former skipper David Warner.
Jofra Archer once again took three wickets in the four overs he bowled. The young pacer returned with figures of 3/26 making it tough for the batsmen to hit him at the death. His match performances earned him a value of 65 lakhs which is only behind Rahane and Williamson. Ish Sodhi dismissed his national team captain Williamson and returned with figures of 1/25 in his three overs. His game performances were valued at 11.5 lakhs which is 3.22 times his average match salary as Rajasthan Royals brought him at his base price of 50 lakhs.
