IPL 2018: Match 30, Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Daredevils – Best memes/gifs

The Chennai Super Kings inched one step closer to the playoffs yesterday as they beat the Delhi Daredevils by 13 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Match 30 of IPL 2018 and went top of the table displacing the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

It was the skipper MS Dhoni who led them from the front once again with a 22-ball fifty, powering them to a score of 211 which proved to be enough at the end as the Delhi Daredevils, despite some good striking from Rishabh Pant, could reach only 198 and remained short of the target by a fair margin.

CSK made quite a few changes in the XI for this game and one of them was putting Faf du Plessis at the top of the order with Shane Watson. While du Plessis struggled to get going in terms of his strike rate and couldn’t achieve the fluency he would have liked, he was still able to stitch a 100-run opening stand with Watson which therefore laid an ideal platform for Dhoni and the other middle order batsmen to launch themselves in the death.

And Dhoni was in a different kind of mood. He picked the bones out of that white, little ball during his presence at the crease. Some of the sixes he hit hardly got off the ground, he hit them so flat and hard. It was a display of insane power, it was vintage Dhoni.

The Delhi Daredevils were the underdogs in such a huge chase and although they kept everyone interested all the way through, it was always Chennai’s game and the visitors were only catching up. Chennai would surely have wanted to be a bit more clinical with the ball, but what mattered for them the most was the 2 points which they got.
